Welcome Back
I hope everyone had a great summer. There were plenty of social events. There was Supreme Session in June. A trip to the Los Angeles Shriner's Kids Hospital in July. Also a trip to the Super Summer Theater, we saw Westside Story, in July. Then there was a Ice cream social in August at the Queen's home.
The El Gizarettes had refreshments for the September Session and the September sewing meeting. Session is the 3rd Thursday of every month at MMT. Sewing is a club 11 am every 4th Tuesday at MMT in the Garden room.
There is the Fundraiser To Tell The Truth October 4th. This is the fundraiser for the CEF and CRF funds. There is the Nile Craft Bizarre at the Shrine Center November 14th. It is in combination with the church bizarre across the street.
Who can forget Ceremonial October 25th. We will be performing a new dance that day for the queen. I hope everyone likes it. We have been practicing all summer.
At the November (19th) Session, we will be having a Bake Sale.
Princess Royal is still doing her piggy bank fundraiser til December Session.
I hope to get to see both new and old faces at these events.

Who Are The El Gizarettes?
Hello Everyone and Welcome to this new blog. The El Gizarettes is the dance unit of Daughters of the Nile, Las Vegas, NV Temple #139. I will have to get back to you on when the unit was created but the Temple was started in 1977.
The following link will tell you what Daughters of the Nile is: http://www.daughtersofthenile.com/ and this one too: http://www.donfdn.com/
Basically we are a faternal organization that is non-profit and raises money for charities. Daughters of the Nile main charity is the Shriner's Children Hospitals (http://www.shrinershq.org/). To know more about the Shriners please check out the following link: http://www.shrinershq.org/Shrine/, basically they are Free Masons who are of the 32nd degree and then join Shriners.
Now back to us, this is the website I started for this unit: http://sites.google.com/site/theelgizarettes/
We learn dances and do performances where ever they ask us to do so. We practice a lot but we also have a lot of fun. Our unit's main fundraiser is The Mad Hatter's Tea which we have every year at the end of February/ beginning of March (depending on scheduled events). We also sell the Temple's name badges.
